Fortnite is giving away 1,000 free V-Bucks at no extra cost

While cosmetic items abound in Fortnite and prestigious collaborations follow one another, an attractive new offer has just surfaced. Players can now obtain 1,000 V-Bucks via the Shaka Surfin’ Starter Packwithout any additional costs. An unexpected increase in content, made public thanks to a leak spotted on social networks.

This is the account @Fecooorelayed by Backers | Fortnite Leakswho revealed the information: the number of V-Bucks included in the starter pack increases from 600 to 1,000while maintaining an identical price of approximately €4.49. A development confirmed in several digital stores, but which has not yet been the subject of an official press release from Epic Games.

What the Shaka Surfin’ pack contains

Much more than a simple recharge of virtual currency, the Shaka Surfin’ pack aims to attract new players with stylish and comprehensive content. For less than €5, it includes:

  • 1,000 V-Bucks
  • A Malibu outfit (LEGO version)
  • A Sharkie back accessory
  • A pickaxe Shaka Shark Slapper

The offer immediately sparked a reaction from the community. “I wasn’t planning on buying it, but now I have no choice,” one player said on Twitter. And he is not the only one to have fallen in love with the apparent generosity of the offer.

A truly free increase?

This sudden change raises the question: is it retroactive for those who have already purchased the pack? To this question, Epic Games has not yet answered anything. And the players are skeptical. For many, the answer is negative.

This has not stopped some from developing alternative purchasing strategies. “This 1K looks too tempting not to take it,” says another user. A third humorously explains: “Yeah, I’m just going to buy this one and the previous 5 starter packs at $5 each to see if each one gives me 1,000 V-Bucks.”

A promo from the sky (but until when?)

This unexpected increase could only be temporary. The lack of official communication raises the hypothesis of a marketing test or a momentary pricing error. Some are already worried that the offer could disappear without notice.

Especially since Fortnite has a series of events and new features. After a colorful collaboration with The Simpsonsthe game now integrates the brutal universe of Kill Billwith its costumes, weapons and accessories inspired by Quentin Tarantino’s saga. Enough to explode expenses… and make these 1,000 V-Bucks more than welcome.
