The “California Resistance” event ends on December 9. With it, the DB-12 rifle disappears from the battle pass. Here’s everything you need to know so you don’t miss out — or decide if it’s really worth it.
The DB-12, an exclusive weapon… but for a very limited time
For several weeks, Battlefield 6 has been offering a temporary event called Californian resistanceaccompanied by a exclusive battle pass. By completing it, players can unlock appearances, business cards, but above all a new weapon: the DB-12 shotgun.
But be careful, this opportunity ends todayDecember 9, 2025. After this date, the pass expires and the DB-12 becomes unavailable — unless hypothetically returned during a future event or challenge.
The DB-12 is a weapon double barreled bullpupcapable of firing two rounds quickly before needing to be rearmed. It has a 16 ammo capacityan advantage in close combat.
How to get the DB-12 before it’s too late
There are two ways to unlock the DB-12 Shotgun in Battlefield 6:
- Complete the battle pass California resistance by playing normally and accumulating chips;
- Buy pass tiers with real money to directly access the weapon without playing.
The pass is designed to reward players’ investment, but the developers have left the door open for quick purchases for those short on time.
However, according to community feedback, it is not recommended to spend money for this weapon. Its effectiveness remains debated, and its use requires place two shots at least to take down an enemy at full health.
A weapon criticized for its performance
Despite its rarity, the DB-12 is not unanimously appreciated. Many players feel that the weapon is not neither powerful enough nor versatile enough.
At best, one round inflicts approximately 80 points of damage. This means that it is necessary tap twice quicklywhich leaves little room for error. In a nervous game like Battlefield 6, this type of mechanic can be detrimental.
“I do not recommend spending money on this, because the DB-12 is far from the best shotgun”writes Cade Onder for ComicBook.com.
This will not prevent collectors or perfectionist players from wanting to add this piece to their arsenal – especially since the weapon could make a return with a future rebalancing.
And after today? What Battlefield 6 plans for the future
Battlefield 6’s post-launch content is particularly rich. The game already offers two free cardsA standalone Battle Royale modeand regular updates. The DB-12 is part of this strategy of limited events designed to boost engagement.
The critical and commercial success of the game could encourage EA to reintroduce certain weapons like the DB-12 via challenges or seasons ahead. Nothing is guaranteed, but this option seems possible.
In the meantime, if you want to own this weapon – even if it is imperfect – you still have a few hours to act. After that, it might be too late.
