Since update v39.00, gold bars are no longer retained between games. Each session becomes a sprint to harvest and use this precious resource without delay. “You lose all your gold at the end of each game.”
This system promotes an aggressive and strategic approach. Accumulating becomes useless. You have to spend quickly: to hire an NPC, buy a weapon from a distributor or collect a reboot card from the Reboot Van.
Job boards: the most profitable source of gold
To maximize your earnings, Job Boards are essential. Arranged all over the map, they offer simple but very profitable objectives: open two chests or recover a drop.
The map even shows their exact location, which limits risks and increases efficiency. “The gains are considerable compared to other methods. You will receive 1,000 gold per supply drop and 750 gold per treasure chest.” Solo or in a team, it’s the quickest way to secure the equivalent of multiple kills in seconds.
Loot smart: where to find gold easily
By exploring locations rich in buildings (restaurants, shops, stations), you can target stationary sources of gold. Safes and cash registers are the best. “Opening a cash register earns you 250 gold. Finding a safe is rarer, but grants you a whopping 500 gold bars.” These objects are often located in closed or protected places, which requires anticipation. Add to that the standard chests scattered everywhere: “A classic chest gives 75 gold, while a rare chest gives 100.”
Gold sharing and team strategy: the novelty that changes everything
Big news in Chapter 7 : the possibility of depositing gold for your allies. “You can now drop gold on the ground for a teammate to pick up.” This transforms the game dynamic into a squad. Instead of playing for yourself, you can pool gold to hire a powerful NPC or purchase rare equipment. This mechanic opens the way to new strategies in teamplay.
