Two Oscars: “KPop Demon Hunters” wins at the 98th Academy Awards


At today’s 98th Academy Awards (Oscars), the Netflix hit “KPop Demon Hunters” won twice. We summarize.

Awarded twice

“KPop Demon Hunters” beat out competitors “Arco,” “Elio,” “Little Amélie or the Character of Rain” and “Zoomania 2” in the “Best Animated Feature” category and was thus named the best animated film.

In addition, the title song “Golden” from the film was awarded in the “Best Music (Original Song)” category. The song left the competition from “Diane Warren: Relentless”, “Sinners”, “Viva Verdi!” and “Train Dreams” behind.

»KPop Demon Hunters«, an animated film produced by Sony Pictures Entertainment, is the most successful title of all time on Netflix, having already achieved more than 500 million views since its streaming premiere on June 20, 2025. A sequel is already in the works.
