The Switch 2 version now looks better according to a demo presented at GDC

No miracle, but the best

You may have forgotten it, and it’s hard to believe otherwise given its silence, but the future of FromSoftware will take place on Switch 2 and is called The Duskbloods. However, you must first complete the portage Elden Ring: Tarnished Editionwhich should have been done last year before a postponement was necessary following the technical performances displayed.

A little less than six months after this decision, the result is better, and this is Giovani Colantonio from Polygon who tells us so. According to its experience on the last demo, lasting only 15 minutes, let us point out, the Switch 2 version holds its place both in docked and in portable mode.

Image quality seems quite decent in both modeswithout giving a blatant impression of blurry textures or low resolution. The framerate, for its part, is not the subject of black magic either, being between 30 and 40 fps, according to the journalist.

However, he also noted that Biggest drop in framerate occurred during a downpour while riding Torrent in the open worldand not during a boss fight. He also expresses reservations about more extensive areas later in the game, or when casting particularly spectacular spells (and, let us add, certain bosses).

The fact remains that this new build ofElden Ring: Tarnished Edition is in better condition, and looks quite playable overall. Especially since, remember, no release date has been placed as a result of the postponement. Let’s therefore hope that the commercialized version is even more developed, and that The Duskbloods can benefit from FromSoft’s experience in having to deal with Nintendo’s hybrid machine.
