PS Plus on sale: the complete guide to paying less

The end of Black Friday does not mean the end of good deals. Without fanfare, Sony has extended its promotions on PS Plus subscription plans until December 5, 2025. This additional period remains one of the rare official opportunities to reduce the cost of the service, which has become essential for enjoying multiplayer games, cloud saves or even the Extra catalog.

The offer primarily concerns new subscribers or those whose subscription has expired. They can get up to 33% off the plan of their choice for a period of 12 months. Active subscribers are not forgotten: a move to a higher offer entitles them to a discount calculated according to their remaining subscription time.

2026 in sight: why anticipate its renewal?

These reductions come against a backdrop of generalized inflation in the video game sector. Sony, like its competitors, has already increased PS Plus prices in 2023 and 2024. A further increase in 2026 seems inevitable, according to several industry analysts. Anticipating its renewal over several years therefore becomes a strategic move.

Extending your subscription now not only saves money in the short term, but also freezes current prices. Some players do not hesitate to accumulate two or even three years in advance, taking advantage of both the Sony promotion and additional tips to further reduce the score.

Accumulating PSN cards: the tip that changes everything

One of the most effective techniques for lowering the price of your subscription is to top up your PlayStation wallet with PSN cards purchased at a reduced price. Platforms like Eneba or Instant Gaming still offer vouchers of €20, €50 or €100 with up to 5% discount.

Once your account is credited, simply complete the purchase directly on the PlayStation Store. Result: a double saving, both on the price of the subscription and on the amount spent to obtain it. For example, a Premium plan can cost around €113.98 instead of €151.99, while leaving a balance of credit that can be used later.

Choose the right formula according to your player profile

Three main plans are offered: PS Plus Essential, Extra and Premium. The first is the most accessible and offers the basic functions, while the other two provide access to expanded game libraries, including recent blockbusters or retro classics for the Premium.

With the current promotion:

– PS Plus Extra goes to €94.99 for one year, compared to €125.99 excluding promo,

– PS Plus Premium drops to around €113.98 if we combine PSN card and official reduction.

So the question is not just how much you want to pay, but how many games you want to have available. And above all, how long you want to stay protected from a price increase.
