After the rumor mill had already been bubbling over the past few weeks, Netflix made it official today: “KPop Demon Hunters” is getting a sequel.
No appointment yet
So far it has only been confirmed that Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans will again direct and write the script for the sequel. Further details, such as the time period for publication, are still pending.
Maggie Kang said in a short statement: »As a Korean filmmaker, it makes me very proud that audiences want to see more of this Korean story and our Korean characters.
There’s so much more to the world we’ve created, and I’m excited to show it to you. This is just the beginning.”
»KPop Demon Hunters«, an animated film produced by Sony Pictures Entertainment, is the most successful title of all time on Netflix, having already achieved more than 500 million views since its streaming premiere on June 20, 2025. The film is also nominated for the 98th Academy Awards.
