Granblue Fantasy mobile game arrives far too late on Steam, leaving veterans behind

A port for newcomers, and only in certain countries

During the annual festival dedicated to the series, Cygames made a announcement unexpected by revealing its plans for mobile gaming Granblue Fantasyreleased over a decade ago now. The studio plans to offer a port to this first game via a Steam version available from March 10, 2026which therefore aims to address a larger audience.

On paper, this is good news even if launching into a gacha today that has more than 10 years of content will be enough to make your head spin. But on closer inspection, the Western community isn’t entirely thrilled. If only by the vagueness concerning the countries concerned by this version. Cygames has not yet clarified whether the game will be available anywhere in the world (we are waiting to know what it is for France and a translation), and doubt is justified when we know that this Steam port will not be accessible in Japan.

A rather incomprehensible decision which is followed by another, that of not being able to resume an account on this version. In other words, if you are already playing Granblue Fantasy by any means on mobile, the website or emulator, you will not be able to resume your game on this Steam port.

This port is therefore only aimed at a new audience, or at those who want to start all over again via a version which will perhaps be more comfortable to play, which is perhaps a little late for a game released in 2014.
