Nintendo fans continue to be surprised at the end of the year. A few days before Christmas, the Japanese publisher is offering free content for two of its biggest recent hits: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond And Kirby Air Ridersfreshly released on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.
A clever way for Nintendo to extend the excitement around these titles and encourage players to stay connected to their console. Bonuses are already available via the “Missions & Rewards” tab of Nintendo Switch Online.
Two Switch heavyweights rewarded
Kirby Air Ridersdeveloped by Bandai Namco Studios, landed in November 2025 on Switch 2. This racing game inspired by the legendary Kirby Air Ride from 2003 offers expanded gameplay with several modes: racing, exploration, combat, and even a single-player story mode. The addition of new characters, vehicles and features has won over many players.
In his review, journalist Sam Cawley was full of praise for the game: “Kirby Air Riders may not have as many track choices as Mario Kart World, but I’d be very surprised if it wasn’t the best racing game released this year, and one of the best in-house Nintendo games to come out on Nintendo Switch 2.”
Released a few weeks later, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond marks the return of Samus Aran in a new adventure on the planet Viewros. Faced with her rival Sylux, the famous bounty hunter leads a high-risk mission. The game, however, only obtained a 6/10 during its initial evaluation, but it nonetheless remains a highlight of the video game year.
