Wizards of the Coast wastes no time
A change of CEO a few days after a new presentation of the game at the Game Awards is surprising. Exodus must now do without James Ohlen, who is stepping down from his position as CEO of Archetype Entertainment, which we learn today from Bloomberg. He was replaced at short notice by Paul Della Bitta, formerly of Blizzard, who is also the co-founder of Dreamhaven Inc.a studio in trouble since the failure of Wildgate. He will serve as head of Wizards of the Coast Digital Ventures, reporting to John Hight, another Blizzard veteran.
Hasbro, via its vice president of communications Abby Hodes, declares that the decision would come from Ohlen, who prefers to devote himself to other projects:
“ At this point, James felt his work on the game was complete and that the development and polishing was in good hands with the team. »
It’s certainly hard to think that there’s nothing left but tweaking more than a year before the game’s release, but who knows. Ohlen would now focus on developing tabletop role-playing games and remain a creative consultant for the studio. Perhaps the ambition here is to develop games of this type around the universe ofExoduswhich seems very ambitious for a new license which is still struggling to capture the attention of the general public.
Exodus is scheduled for release in early 2027 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
