Starting November 19, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 users can enjoy a series of limited-time Super Mario-themed free downloads. The offer, reserved for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, will end on November 24. A good reason to take a look at the “Missions and rewards” section before it’s too late.
This operation is part of a special year for the Japanese firm, which is celebrating 40 years of Super Mario Bros.one of the most iconic games in video game history. At the same time, Nintendo continues its conquest of the big screen, with two films in preparation around its cult licenses, including a feature film Super Mario Galaxy expected for April 2026.
New icons to collect on Switch and Switch 2
No full game offered here, but a collection of completely free icons, to use to personalize your Nintendo profile. They come from several major titles in the Mario universe, such as Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario Odyssey or even Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Each visual can be retrieved via the Nintendo Switch Online application. Once logged in, users must go to the tab “Missions and rewards” to unlock them. It is essential to have an active subscription, regardless of the plan chosen, to access this functionality.
Until November 24 only for Mario, a little more for Animal Crossing
The operation only lasts a few days: the Mario icons will disappear from the application as soon as November 24 at midnight. For those who don’t have their console at hand, Nintendo leaves a little more time with other series, like the Animal Crossing icons, available until December 1st.
Note that this free distribution of cosmetic items accompanies several announcements related to the Mario universe: the reissue of the two games Super Mario Galaxyan upgrade of Super Mario Bros.
