A large team has already been assembled
This is good news, almost unexpected, that the co-founder of Hypixel Studios shared on his social networks. Hytale is not dead, since the studio is reborn from its ashes having managed to repurchase the license rights from Riot Games to become the new owner. And Simon Collins-Laflamme is not alone in this new adventure. More than 30 people who were familiar with game development are back hereenough to build a solid team to continue the production of this project:
“ In recent weeks, we’ve rehired over 30 developers who know the game inside and out, with more hires expected soon. Together, we reconnect with Hytale’s original vision. We are completely independent and are personally committed to funding Hytale for the next 10 years. Transactions like this are rare in the video game industry. Thank you all for keeping hope alive. Hytale is saved. »
We will always be careful with this famous promise of seeing a game be supported for a decade, but we can at least be happy to see the studio get back on its feet and have full powers over its game. For its part, Riot Games wishes the studio good luck, indicating that it received several offers before accepting that of the co-founder. Noxy, who also participated in the birth of the project, will not be there this time, but he is sending all his good vibes to this team to bring Hytale to life.
It will still take time to see Hytale be playable in good conditions. The game’s multiple delays have shown numerous technical issues encountered by the studio, and this pause has necessarily complicated things. At least the future is a little brighter for this project.
