Battlefield 6 finally fixes overly long challenges, dozens of objectives changed now

Good news for Battlefield 6 players tired of the endless challenges: the studio BF Studios deployed a server update on November 5 that radically changes the situation. This patch addresses one of the most criticized points since the launch of the game: the difficulty of the missions and the slowness of progression.

With more than 90 adjustments to all challenges and missions, the objectives have been simplified to better match the real rhythm of the games. “This update significantly reduces challenge requirements, reducing the time needed while maintaining skill-based progression that rewards regular play,” the studio explains.

All missions affected by the adjustments

The changes affect all types of challenges: classes, weapons, modes, and mastery missions. Objective: allow everyone to progress, whether they play for 30 minutes or several hours in a row. “Challenges and missions are now calibrated according to defined game duration objectives, and these changes align their requirements with these objectives to make them more achievable in a reasonable session,” specify the developers.

Here are some concrete examples of the modifications applied:

  • Class Challenges:
    • Support 2: Revive teammates goes from 200 to 60 resuscitations
    • Assault 2: Deployments on a beacon reduced from 50 to 5 deployments
  • Weapon Challenges:
    • Inflict damage with Assault Rifles goes down from 10,000 to 3,000 damage
    • All types (AR, SMG, LMG, etc.) have been simplified
  • Game modes:
    • Conquest 2: Winning games drop from 5 to 2 victories
    • Conquest 3: Objectives eliminated decreases from 30 to 10 per round
  • Mastery missions:
    • Explosive Expert: Explosive Multi-Kills reduced from 20 to 5
    • Adaptable: repairing vehicles in a lifetime goes down to 500 points of damage (compared to 3,000 before)

Even cosmetic progression has been redesigned. “Misssions will continue to range from goals that are achievable through normal play to few that reward true mastery, particularly those related to cosmetic items. Some of the initial criteria did not fully reflect this intention, and we have updated them to clarify their difficulty and purpose,” says BF Studios.

A major project which will extend over several weeks

The studio warns: this fix is only the first step. New waves of modifications, both on the server side and via client updates, are planned soon. “The scale of our plans for challenges and missions is large and will roll out in multiple waves of server- and client-side updates,” the developers conclude.

In the meantime, players who had already progressed in certain missions will have their achievements validated automatically. A way for Battlefield 6 to reconcile with its community, frustrated by an overly demanding pace despite a record launch.
