GTA 6 on Nintendo Switch 2 is almost confirmed, announcement is imminent

The much awaited Grand Theft Auto VI continues to fuel the most ambitious rumors. This time, it’s a possible release on Nintendo Switch 2 who gets people talking. According to Reece “Kiwi Talkz” Reilly, a content creator claiming to have an inside source at Rockstar Gamesthe studio would announce a Switch 2 version of the game. Better yet, this version would be released on the same day as on the other consoles. As of yet, no official confirmation has been given.

A rumor that revives speculation

According to the post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Kiwi Talkz source has been correct several times in the past. He claims that his contact has been arguing for months that GTA 6 will launch simultaneously on Switch 2.

The person himself admits to having found the idea absurd at first, to the point of betting on the opposite. However, he specifies that Rockstar would have until the beginning of May to officially announce this version.

He adds that if there is no announcement by then, it would not necessarily mean that the Switch 2 version is abandoned, but simply that it could be revealed later.

Rockstar would have at least studied the possibility of a port. However, there is no evidence that the game could run without major compromises. A simultaneous release would be a strong signal from Nintendo and Rockstar, but would represent a considerable technical challenge.

Rockstar and Take-Two maintain silence

On the official side, Take-Two Interactive confirmed in February that GTA 6 remains scheduled for November 19, 2026, with a marketing launch planned for this summer. No mention of a Switch 2 version was made during these communications. Rockstar is renowned for its extremely controlled communication strategy, revealing its information in dribs and drabs. As things currently stand, the existence of a Nintendo Switch 2 version of GTA 6 is absolutely not confirmed.

A fantasy or a surprise in the making?

The prospect of seeing GTA 6 on a portable hybrid console naturally excites fans. Such an announcement would significantly expand the game’s potential audience. However, until Rockstar officially communicates, this information remains at the rumor stage. The next few months should be decisive, especially as the summer marketing campaign approaches. If a Switch 2 version is actually in the works, its announcement could be one of the biggest media hits of the year. In the meantime, caution remains in order.
