Anyone who has watched the second season of “Jujutsu Kaisen” on Crunchyroll in the past few days will have noticed a clear difference in quality compared to the simulcast, because the provider has replaced the material.
Better quality
The original TV version, which was heavily criticized when it was broadcast in summer and autumn 2023 due to the problematic production conditions and a clearly noticeable drop in quality, has now been replaced by the revised Blu-ray version – a move that fans on Reddit have positively received.
Although Crunchyroll has not announced the release of the new material itself, it was announced in November 2025 via the series’
“Jujutsu Kaisen” is now close to the finale of the first part of the third season, which has been shown in the OmU simulcast since January 8, 2026. The final episode is scheduled for March 26, 2026 with a longer runtime.
