On the official X account of the anime adaptation of “The Detective Is Already Dead” (Japanese: “Tantei wa mou, Shindeiru.”) it was announced today that the start of the second season had to be postponed. We summarize.
Starting in October 2026
Contrary to the original announcement, the second season of “The Detective Is Already Dead” will not be broadcast on Japanese television from July 2026, but will only start in October 2026 due to delays in production.
The studio ENGI is once again responsible for the sequel, with Manabu Kurihara (“Trapped in a Dating Sim”) directing and Hitomi Mieno (“May I Ask for One Final Thing?”) writing the script.
The streaming service Crunchyroll has all twelve episodes of the first season, which were shown in simulcast on WAKANIM between July and September 2021, in the German language version and in the original soundtrack with subtitles.
