PS Plus adds colossal 140+ hour JRPG in March

The month of March marks another major update for the PlayStation Plus catalog. Sony continues to regularly add new titles for Extra and Premium subscribers, giving PS4 and PS5 players the opportunity to experience many games at no additional cost.

Among the new arrivals planned in the service is an RPG particularly famous among fans of the genre. Persona 5 Royal, often considered one of the best modern JRPGs, joins the PlayStation Plus catalog and promises a particularly long and immersive adventure.

Persona 5 Royal joins PlayStation Plus

PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers will soon be able to access Persona 5 Royal directly through the service catalog. The game will be available from March 17, 2026 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Developed by Atlus, this RPG was widely praised upon release for its storyline, characters, and turn-based combat system. The game follows a group of students nicknamed the Phantom Thieves, who are able to enter supernatural worlds to face enemies called Shadows.

The title became particularly popular thanks to word of mouth from players and very positive reviews from the specialized press. It is now considered a must-have for fans of Japanese role-playing games.

A JRPG that can last over 140 hours

Persona 5 Royal is a particularly long game, even by genre standards. According to estimates from the site HowLongToBeat, the main story lasts on average a little over 100 hours.

However, most players spend much more time in the game exploring all the activities on offer. Between character relationships, side quests and dungeon exploration, the adventure can easily exceed 120 hours.

For players who want to complete the game 100%, the average lifespan reaches around 140 hours. Some players even spend more time developing their characters or discovering all the secrets of the game.

A cult RPG for fans of the genre

Persona 5 Royal is an expanded version of the Persona 5 game originally released in 2016. This edition features many additions, including new characters, additional events, and gameplay improvements.

The combat system relies on the use of Personas, manifestations of the characters’ inner powers. Each fight requires exploiting enemies’ weaknesses to gain a strategic advantage. The game also stands out for its very distinct artistic style and its soundtrack that is particularly appreciated by players.

An ideal opportunity to discover the game

The arrival of Persona 5 Royal on PlayStation Plus represents an excellent opportunity for players to discover this cult RPG. Many fans consider this game to be one of the best console experiences of its kind.

Extra and Premium subscribers will therefore be able to download the game as soon as it arrives in the catalog. As with other titles on the service, no withdrawal date has been announced at this time.

However, the games in the PlayStation Plus catalog change regularly. Interested players should therefore take advantage of the arrival of Persona 5 Royal while it remains available.
