The Pokémon Trading Card Game is preparing to welcome a major new expansion. Called Perfect Order, this collection will introduce several new cards into the Pokémon TCG universe.
Alongside this release, The Pokémon Company also revealed three special promotional cards that will only be distributed in certain stores. These cards should quickly become sought-after items by collectors.
Three exclusive promotional cards revealed
As the launch of Perfect Order approaches, three promotional cards have been revealed. These cards feature Pokémon popular with fans. The trio is made up of Gengar, Luxray and Aurorus. Each card will be distributed in different stores, which means that players will have to go to certain specific stores to obtain them.
The Gengar card will be available at GameStop stores in the United States as well as EB Games stores in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The Luxray card will be distributed in Best Buy stores in the United States, but also in certain brands such as JB Hi-Fi in New Zealand or Mr. Toys and Toymate in Australia.
The Aurorus card will be the rarest of the three promotions. It will be available only in the United States at select Hot Topic and Barnes & Noble stores. To obtain these promotional cards, players will need to purchase at least $15 worth of Pokémon TCG merchandise from participating stores, while supplies last.
Perfect Order introduces new Mega Evolutions
The Perfect Order expansion will also mark the arrival of several new Mega Evolutions in the Pokémon TCG. Some of these cards are inspired by Pokémon that appeared in Pokémon Legends: ZA. Among the most anticipated cards is Mega-Zygarde ex, which will be the main card of the expansion.
Other Pokémon will also receive new versions, including Mega Staross and Mega Spurge. The expansion will also offer several Trainer cards inspired by the Pokémon Legends: ZA universe. Characters like Hyacinth, Naveen and Tarragon will make their debut in the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
A more compact extension than the previous one
Perfect Order will be a smaller expansion than the previous Pokémon TCG release. The base set should include 88 cards, compared to nearly 290 for the previously launched Ascended Heroes expansion. This smaller format could, however, make certain cards even more sought after by collectors. The promotional cards revealed for the occasion should particularly attract the attention of fans, in particular that of Gengar, one of the most popular Pokémon of the first generation.
A release planned for the end of the month
The official release of the Perfect Order expansion is scheduled for March 27. From this date, players will be able to discover the new cards and try to obtain exclusive promotions offered in certain stores. With the arrival of new Mega Evolutions and cards inspired by Pokémon Legends: ZAPerfect Order should mark a milestone for the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
