A remake that will not only recycle
Yakuza Kiwami 3 will not be just a simple remake. This is what Yokoyama Masayoshi wants to send as a message to GameWatch, in an interview translated by Automaton where we understand that this new version will also give an idea of the direction the license will take Like a Dragon in the years to come :
“ This game contains important clues about the future direction of the series. We haven’t officially announced anything about this yet. But once you play it, I think you’ll have an idea, or rather a pretty clear idea, of what we plan to do with the series in the future. […] If you think that Yakuza Kiwami 3 is just a remake, you are very wrong. »
This is a great selling point for Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Tieswhich we hope is not oversold. He states in the same interview that the content Dark Tides promises to be very shocking, with one of the darkest narratives in the series. Who knows what this will reveal for the future of the saga, but fans will definitely be there to find out.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Tides will be available on PC via Steam, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch 2 from February 12, 2026.
