Xbox is offering 6 games playable for free this weekend, not to be missed

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate continues to spoil its subscribers with Free Play Days, these weekly events which allow you to test several games for free over a weekend. This time, Microsoft offers an eclectic selection mixing simulation, science fiction, RPG and multiplayer action. Here is a detailed overview of the six titles available until December 8 (and even until December 9 for certain content), with the added bonus of some tips for taking full advantage of them.

Realistic and immersive worlds to explore

Among the games available for free this weekend, two stand out for their immersive approach to the real world:

  • Bassmaster Fishing immerses you in the competitive world of professional fishing. Join tournaments, climb the leaderboards and enjoy a sporting career, controller in hand.
  • Way of the Hunter offers authentic hunting simulation in vast and varied natural environments. The artificial intelligence of the animals and the weather effects reinforce the feeling of immersion.

These titles stand out for their attention to detail and their willingness to replicate well-known activities with astonishing accuracy. A good way to slow down the pace, while keeping an eye on the competition.

Escape and strategy in space and beyond

For science fiction fans, EVERSPACE 2 comes to satisfy the desire for wide open spaces. This single-player space shooter blends exploration, dynamic combat, loot, and RPG elements in a visually impressive semi-open world.

Please note: you can customize your ship, upgrade your skills and follow a narrative campaign that goes well beyond simple “shoot & loot”. This is one of the most complete games in this selection, not to be missed if you like cosmic adventures with a touch of tactics.

RPG and narration: a world to discover with Astria Ascending

Fans of more classic role-playing games will turn to Astria Ascendinga 2D JRPG with careful artistic direction. The rich universe of Orcanon is revealed through dungeons, mini-games, a turn-based combat system and an ambitious narrative.

With over 50 hours of content, this game offers much more than just a try. It’s a real adventure, perfect for a long weekend as long as you’re willing to put in the work.

A special Destiny 2 event… and a free surprise for everyone!

Good news for fans of Destiny 2 : major extensions The Witch Queen, Lightfall And The Final Form are accessible free of charge until December 9. The perfect opportunity to dive back into the Bungie universe, especially if you left it a few seasons ago.

But that’s not all: Descendersa randomly generated downhill mountain biking game, is available for free to all Xbox players, even without a Game Pass subscription. It’s nervous, fast, demanding… and above all accessible to everyone.

Progress preserved and promotions to be seized

As always with Free Play Days, your progress will be saved if you choose to purchase any of the games after the free period. Better yet, promotions are available on these titles directly through the Microsoft Store.

And for those who are not yet subscribers, a good deal is currently circulating: the promo code XboxyCore allows you to obtain 1 year of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at a greatly reduced price (around €7.50/month instead of €26.99). A great way to take full advantage of all the upcoming Xbox events.
