With the release of the remake, the availability of Yakuza 3 Remastered will be impacted

A remaster accessible only via a bundle

To avoid getting lost, let’s recap. Yakuza 3released on PS3 in 2010 here, was the subject of a remaster in 2019 logically titled Yakuza 3 Remasteredfor the PS4, then on PC and Xbox in 2021. And on February 12, 2026, a third version, Yakuza 3 & Dark Tieswill be responsible for remaking the base game, with the addition of content related to Yoshitaka Mine. The consequence that no one really saw coming was that Yakuza 3 Remastered will leave the PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, GOG and Humble Store stores.

Indeed, instead of paying the €19.99 necessary for its purchase, the remaster will only be made accessible through the bundle The Yakuza Complete Series. A particularly unfortunate choice since the pack costs €129.99. Of course, there are also the six other Yakuza opuses letting us play as Kiryu, but having to pay so much just for one game stings.

If you still want to recover this version before it is too late, two solutions are available to you. The first is simply to purchase the remaster in digital version by February 12. The second is to fall back on the Yakuza Remastered Collectionphysical edition containing episodes 3, 4 and 5. That said, it is only available on PlayStation 4.

In short, currently, there is still room for improvement, but we must recognize that this decision sounds like a low blow for the community, and we can understand it. Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is expected on February 12 on PC (via Steam), PS5, PS4, Xbox Series and Switch 2.
