Since November 6, 2025, players of Pokémon Legends: ZA can access a new Mystery Gift that unlocks much more than just an item: a side quest leading to the capture of a mythical Pokémon, Diancie, and its Mega-Evolution. Unlike other distributions, this one stands out for its complexity and strategic importance.
Accessible with no announced deadline, this Mystery Gift does not directly give access to the Pokémon, but provides a Diancitethe gem needed to trigger the “Shine Like a Precious Stone” mission. However, this quest can only be completed after completing the main scenario of the game.
Diancite, side quest and fight on the roofs of Illumis
To unlock access to Diancie, players must complete a multi-step procedure. After updating their game, you must launch Pokémon Legends: ZAopen the main menu with the X key, go to the “Network Play” tab, then to the “Mystery Gift” menu and select the “Obtain via Internet” option.
Among the gifts available, choose the option entitled “Shine like a precious stone”. Once Diancite is obtained, a side quest is automatically activated. This begins at the Observers’ Office, where the player is invited to meet Mimi, an Espurr carrying a quest marker.
The objective? Follow Mimi through the streets of Illumis, where she attempts to locate a source of psychic energy emitted by Diancite. This route leads to a roof, the scene of a confrontation against Diancie accompanied by two Carbinks. To capture it, it is not enough to weaken it: even once knocked out, it can resist capture attempts. Players are therefore encouraged to prepare status conditions and high-level Poké Balls to maximize their chances.
A strategic distribution before the Mega Dimension DLC
This new event is part of a broader content campaign around Pokémon Legends: ZA. The distribution of Diancie and its Mega Evolution arrives shortly after the announcement of the Mega Dimension DLC, which will introduce new characters, other Mega Evolutions and new story segments.
In the official description of this distribution, we can read:
