While Pokémon fans were patiently waiting for the DLC to release Mega Dimensionscheduled for December 10, 2025, a new trailer released on November 19 caused a real shock wave. Not only do we discover new gameplay and decor elements in Lumiose City, but above all: Zeraora, the legendary electric Pokémonobtains a new Mega-Evolution.
An unexpected announcement, especially since Zeraora was not even part of the generations concerned by Pokémon X and Y, on which Pokémon Legends: ZA relies to build its story.
Zeraora, first mythical Pokémon to obtain a Mega-Evolution
Since the first announcements, The Pokémon Company had already confirmed the arrival of new Mega forms for Raichu, Chimecho And Baxcalibur. But no one expected to see Zeraora join this selection. The revelation of Mega-Zeraora was made directly in the title and thumbnail of the trailerwithout the slightest official announcement upstream.
The fans, taken by surprise, immediately reacted: “Showing a fabulous Mega who doesn’t even come from this generation is crazy (Volcanion is crying in his corner).” This surprising choice revives debates on the integration of Pokémon from outside Kalos into the lore of ZA.
If Zeraora emerges as a headliner of the DLC, her capture or addition to the team promises to be difficult. The trailer suggests that his appearance will not be automatic, and that you will have to explore the upcoming story content to hope to meet him.
A design that sparks debate, between surprise and nostalgia
It was not only the announcement of Mega-Zeraora that left its mark, but also his appearance. With its new form, the electric Mythical Pokémon displays traits visibly inspired by another fan favorite: Luxray.
“It reminds me of Luxray, and that’s definitely a good thing,” says one player in the trailer’s comments. A more feline, more menacing design that reinforces Zeraora’s power while flattering the nostalgia of those who grew up with Sinnoh Pokémon.
This visual nod is not the only nostalgic element of the video. Other details jumped out at the most attentive fans, like the presence of Zubat in the dark alleys of Lumiose. An emblematic Pokémon from the first generations, absent from the base game, but which here marks a remarkable return “to haunt us in the DLC”, as one user humorously points out.
