For almost five years, Silksong fueled theories, rumors and hopes. Developed in the shadows by Team Cherry, the successor to the cult Hollow Knight arrived discreetly in September 2025… to better explode the counters upon its release. Rated 19/20 by Jeuxvideo.com, it ranks among the highest rated titles of the year, just behind Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, crowned game of the year at the Game Awards.
But Silksong was not unworthy. With an average score of 90/100 on Metacritic, it stands out as a major critical success, driven by an artistic direction that remains as captivating as ever, refined gameplay and an immersive soundtrack. The title confirms Team Cherry’s talent for demanding and poetic experiences.
A rare discount for an exceptional title
While the game is only three months old, it is already on sale on certain platforms. On Steam as well as on the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop, Silksong benefits from a 20% reduction, bringing it to €15.60. A godsend, especially as the holidays approach.
This temporary discount is valid until December 31 on the eShop and until January 5 on Steam. However, no reduction is applied on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series. The only consolation for Xbox players: Silksong is included in Game Pass.
A difficult, but unforgettable adventure
What sets Silksong apart, beyond its aesthetics, is its high standards. Like his elder, he does not spare the players. The labyrinthine level design, the formidable bosses and the absence of comfortable indications form a game where perseverance is essential.

Sea of Sorrow: a free expansion from 2026
As if that wasn’t enough, an extension is already in the pipeline. Baptized Sea of Sorrowit will be offered to all players from 2026. If the details remain confidential, the studio promises a new area, new enemies and perhaps new, new narrative sections.
Such an announcement upon release of the game demonstrates the team’s confidence in the longevity of its work. In an industry where additional content is often paid for, this generosity further strengthens the community’s attachment to Silksong.
