Metroid Prime 4: the first gameplay images leaked in ads for the Switch 2

The release of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond fast approaching. Scheduled for December 4, 2025, the Nintendo game has just made a surprise appearance… in two unlisted advertisements. These were spotted online and shared massively by fans on social media.

Each of these videos lasts just 15 seconds, but it’s enough to generate real excitement. The first ad reveals a clash against a brand new boss named Carvexin a classic license decor. We see the player handling the Switch 2 in docked mode with a standard controller.

The second ad presents another approach to gameplay: the use of “mouse input” via the Joy-Con for more precise aiming, a new feature eagerly awaited by some players.

Shared reactions among fans

The videos, first removed from YouTube, were posted on the forum Famiboards by user “BackwardsCompat”. Since then, they have been widely distributed.

The reactions were not long in coming. Some netizens criticize the visual style as “GameCube level”, while others welcome the return to the series’ roots. One thing is certain: expectations are very high.

What we know (officially) so far

Nintendo has not yet officially released these ads, but their discovery leaves little doubt that they will be released soon. The game is therefore well and truly over, and the marketing campaign seems ready to start.

Let us remember that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is one of the most anticipated games for the Switch 2, the release date of which has not yet been specified. Nintendo is betting big on this title to mark the launch of its new console.

Verdict

Between a controlled leak and a disguised teaser, these advertisements have already fulfilled their mission: to increase the pressure. Samus fans only have one month to wait before finding the heroine in a new universe.
