New details about the series’ global release were announced today on the official Though I Am an Inept Villainess website. There is also a new trailer, which you can find further down in this article.
Simulcast on two platforms
“Though I Am an Inept Villainess” starts on July 12, 2026 on Japanese television and will be shown in Europe not only on Crunchyroll as previously announced, but also on Disney+ in the original sound with subtitles in the simulcast.
While Crunchyroll has already confirmed a German dubbed version, it is still unclear which language options will be offered on Disney+ besides Japanese. Of course we will keep you updated.
The Doga Kobo studio is responsible for the production of the new fantasy series, with Mitsue Yamazaki (“How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?”) directing and Sumie Noro (assistant director of “ZENSHU”) serving as assistant director.
The original light novel of the same name written by Satsuki Nakamura has been published since December 2020 with illustrations by Kana Yuki. A manga adaptation by Ei Ohitsuji debuted in “Comic Zero-Sum” magazine in December 2020.
