Pokémon Legends ZA: the viral trick that makes shiny Pokémon (too) easy to catch

For some players, catching a shiny Pokémon is a miracle. In Pokémon Legends: ZAa bug or a flaw seems to transform this quest for exception into a simple formality. Relayed on social networks by many fans, this “secret trick” would make it possible to obtain thousands of shiny Pokémon in just a few hourswithout the slightest effort. Result: the video explaining the method went viral.

It all starts from an observation shared by several players: rare shiny Pokémon don’t disappear once they appear in the game. Unlike other games where a wrong move or a bad save could cause you to lose everything, here, these shiny Pokémon stay in placeeven after several zone changes. A discovery confirmed by hundreds of enthusiastic comments online.

An exploit shared on Twitter: 3,867 shiny automatically generated

It was on X (formerly Twitter) that the phenomenon exploded. The user @ItachiVgc posted a video that has gone viral, in which he explains his method for make a maximum of shiny appear automatically. According to him, you just need to find an area with repeated stairs or transitionslike that of the Wild Area 3and hold down the left joystick so that the trainer moves back and forth between two areas. The game then reloads the card each time it passes, increasing the chance of spawning shiny at each cycle.

“I got all the shiny Pokémon in Wild Area 3 in two hours afk [loin des touches]”, explains @ItachiVgc in his publication. Better yet, he specifies that he has developed an automated system which holds the joystick in position without needing to stay in front of the console. According to his calculations, “on average, there should be 3,867 shiny Pokémon appearing” in an hour.

Multiple testimonies reinforce the credibility of the trick: many Internet users claim to have tested it successfullygenerating impressive screenshots of their Pokédex filled with shiny versions.

A flaw soon to be corrected by Game Freak?

A burning question remains: is this a simple oversight on the part of the developers, or a voluntary functionality intended to facilitate the hunt for shiny? For now, Game Freak has not officially reacted to this viral trend. But players are already fearing an upcoming update correct what they consider to be an exploit.

“Some were concerned that it would be harder than ever to catch Shiny Pokémon,” fans recall, referring to the forced activation of autosave in Pokémon Legends: ZA. However, this discovered flaw radically changes the situation.

While waiting for a possible response from the developers, the community continues to rush to the trick, refining it and sharing it through guides, videos and explanatory threads. Available on Nintendo Switch 2 and the classic version, Pokémon Legends: ZA may have become the ideal playground for shiny collectors.
