GTA 6: a third postponement expected? A Rockstar employee alerts

This is another blow for Grand Theft Auto fans. After a second official postponement of GTA 6 to November 19, 2026, concerns are growing around a possible third exit delay. And this time, it is not analysts or leaks, but the direct voice of an employee still active within Rockstar Games who raises the alert.

A few days after the announcement of the postponement, a testimony published anonymously on the GTAForums forum attracted attention. According to this employee, whose identity was confirmed by a site moderator, the state of mind internally is more than worrying. “Morale at the studio is at an all-time low. While we should be excited about what the next year has in store, we are now totally demoralized and our trust in others is shattered.”

A toxic atmosphere weighed down by social tensions

The message doesn’t stop there. In particular, he mentions a major event that occurred behind the scenes: the significant progression of the union movement within the studio. “A week earlier, the union had reached around 200 members, thus exceeding the 10% threshold required to request recognition and begin collective negotiations. This allows us to negotiate directly with management on the essential points that concern us: the worsening of overloaded working periods, insufficient wages and rigid working conditions.”

This tense context follows a controversial event: the dismissal of 34 employees by Rockstar Games, officially for having distributed confidential information on a forum. A version publicly contested by the president of the IWGB union, Alex Marshall. “Management is showing that it doesn’t care about GTA 6’s delays and is prioritizing union repression by targeting precisely the people who create the game,” he said.

A weakened development and an exit in danger?

Despite the magnitude of these testimonies, some fans continue to blame this climate on dismissed employees, accusing them of a slowdown in development. A vision quickly corrected by journalist Jason Schreier, well informed on the subject. He specifies that the two events are totally independent : “The game wasn’t pushed back six months because 34 people were laid off a week ago. The announcement was made today because Take-Two released its financial results today [6 novembre].”

Internally, the lack of visibility and the pressure surrounding GTA 6 seem to undermine the teams. The title has become a monster expected from all sides, but without the working conditions following suit. So much so that some employees fear not not meet the new deadline of November 2026.

Without an official statement from Rockstar Games on this subject, the future of GTA 6 remains hanging on a reality: a game does not develop in eternal pain, without one day paying the price.
