Forza Horizon 6 reveals its campaign and progression system in a new video

Japan is set to become the ultimate playground for racing fans. Before its release scheduled for May 2026, Forza Horizon 6 finally reveals the complete structure of its campaign, and Playground Games seems to want to shake up habits.

Unlike previous opuses where the player already played a superstar of the Horizon Festival, this new adventure starts on a more modest tone. This time, you start as a simple tourist, dreaming of joining the prestigious festival and climbing the ranks to legendary status.

A progression based on the Horizon Festival bracelets

The campaign is based on a clear system: earn bracelets to unlock new events. To officially participate in the Horizon Festival, you must first complete the Horizon qualifications and then the Invitational. This first bracelet opens access to a selection of races across Japan. Each new bracelet unlocked through Festival events, PR challenges and skill tests allows access to more demanding races. Vehicles become faster, terrain more varied and conditions more complex. The increase in power is gradual, focused on performance and improving skills.

Discovery of Japan, a freer progression

Forza Horizon 6 does not limit the player’s development to official competitions. Japan Discovery mode introduces a more open dimension. In this mode, players earn stamps by photographing landscapes, participating in mountain or night races, and exploring iconic cultural sites.

All of these rewards are recorded in the new Collection Journal. The Festival bracelets and Discovery of Japan work together, offering two complementary paths to progress.

The Island of Legends and the extended Goliath race

Reaching the maximum level unlocks access to the Island of Legends. This exclusive location offers particularly intense challenges. Among them is an extended version of the Goliath race, crossing the entire Japanese map. This is an ultimate test, reserved for the most experienced pilots. This final reward symbolizes the culmination of progression, transforming the simple tourist from the beginning into a true icon of the Festival.

Singleplayer, co-op, and advanced customization

The Forza Horizon 6 campaign can be experienced solo or cooperatively. Players will be able to customize racing conditions, choose vehicles, adjust the weather and modify several parameters once certain levels are unlocked.

Playground Games therefore focuses on flexibility. Each player will be able to shape their experience according to their driving style and preferences. With this hybrid structure mixing structured challenges and free exploration, Forza Horizon 6 seems to want to offer more immersive and more customizable progression than ever before its launch in May 2026.
