Epic Games Store: Do you like to thrill? This horror game is offered for Halloween

Every week, the Epic Games Store offers its users one or more games to collect for free. And for the end of October, the platform is banking on the atmosphere of dark corridors and guaranteed thrills. From October 26 to 30, 2025, PC players can download Fear The Spotlight without spending a cent.

Usually sold for £15.99, this narrative game plunges into an oppressive atmosphere straight out of survival horror classics. A perfect gift for anyone looking to get scared without breaking the bank during the Halloween season.

A nostalgic dive into 90s horror

Developed by Cozy Game Pals and published by Blumhouse Games, Fear The Spotlight pays homage to the horror games of the PlayStation 1 generation. The deliberately polygonal graphic style, the retro atmosphere and the gameplay centered on infiltration recall the glory days of the genre. The storyline follows two friends, Vivian and Amy, who break into their school after class… until their session turns into a nightmare.

The specialist critics were full of praise for its release in October 2024. The GAMINGbible site gave it a score of eight out of ten, stating: Fear the Spotlight might be the first game to scare me in a while and even though it’s a bit stuck in the past, it does a wonderful job of unsettling the player enough for you to think about it for a while. »

On Metacritic, it has a score of 83, confirming its quality both from the press and from players, who give it a score of 7.9.
