“Chainsaw Man” film takes second place in the German cinema charts


After »Chainsaw Man the Movie: Reze Arc« successfully opened in German cinemas last Thursday, the film also managed to impress with good results on the following opening weekend.

115,000 cinemagoers

By Sunday evening, the first film of “Chainsaw Man” attracted a total of around 115,000 visitors to German cinemas and grossed around 1.4 million euros, which made it to number 2 in the cinema charts.

The worldwide cinema revenue currently amounts to around 110 million US dollars (the equivalent of around 94.5 million euros), of which almost 40% is attributable to the domestic market in Japan (6.5 billion yen, around 36.6 million euros). This is followed by the USA, where the film grossed around 17.3 million US dollars.

In terms of content, the film follows on directly from the first season of the anime adaptation of the manga of the same name by Tatsuki Fujimoto. The streaming service Crunchyroll has all twelve episodes with German and Japanese language options and also released them in a collector’s edition on DVD and Blu-ray.
