Update 1.03.1 for Elden Ring: Nightreign has been available since December 17, 2025 on all platforms. It stands out as a major fix, especially for DLC players. The Forsaken Hollows. This new version includes numerous gameplay adjustments, technical fixes and above all, an expansion of content in Deep of Night mode.
According to the developers, it is imperative to install this patch to continue playing online: “You will not be able to play online (and therefore not at all) until this update has been applied.”
The Forsaken Hollows enriched with new challenges in Deep of Night
Owners of The Forsaken Hollows additional content now have access to exclusive new features in the ultra-difficult Deep of Night mode. Among them, we find:
- Of new targets to track down
- Of the new landmarks
- Of the reinforced raid events
- And above all, the appearance of moving eartha dynamic zone with changing rules
These additions are only accessible if all players of a session also have the DLC, a choice assumed by FromSoftware to guarantee a consistency of shared experience.
Gameplay Rebalances and Adjustments
Patch 1.03.1 profoundly modifies certain mechanics related to curses and advanced skills. FromSoftware specifies: “Increased curse effects related to Fire, Magic, Lightning or Holy applied to weapons and items found in the temples of the Great Hollow Shifting Earth.”
Other notable adjustments include reducing the attack power of summoned wolves in Tricephalos raids, adding specific animations for critical resurrections, and improving the interface to better visualize active effects.
An avalanche of technical corrections on all levels
This patch is also remarkable for the extent of the technical fixes it includes. Dozens of bugs have been fixed, whether they concern specific skills, boss animations, status effects or even inconsistencies in network interactions.
The developers also indicate that they have fixed a security flaw identified by Unity Technologies, while reassuring the community: “The main game is not affected by the security flaw and the update.”
Finally, installing this update allows you to recover the regulatory files necessary to access multiplayer, with a version clearly identified at the bottom of the title screen: Application 1.03.1 / Regulation 1.03.2.
