After years of waiting and insistent requests from players, Bloodborne is finally taking a step towards the PC. But it is not Sony which is at the origin of this unexpected progress. A passionate developer, known as fromsoftserve, has managed to create an unofficial remaster of FromSoftware’s famous game, now playable on computer. Available for free, this project is already impressing the community.
Bloodborne on PC: a free remaster that changes everything
Initially launched in 2024, this project has continued to evolve. Today it reaches an almost finalized version with major improvements. The mod notably integrates dynamic shadows, a better display distance, as well as global stability optimizations. Result: a smoother and visually superior version of Bloodborne than the one released on PlayStation 4.
To accompany this new stage, the creator shared a long presentation video. He explains: “I’ve released update 0.99.7 for my Bloodborne PC remaster mod, and to celebrate its release, here’s a long, hour-long video that shows you most areas of the game.” He also adds: “I talk about what I have done, my mistakes, what I still have to do and my future plans.”
An improved version that revives fans’ hopes
In this remastered version, players can rediscover iconic locations like Yharnam, the Hunter’s Dream and the Fisherman’s Hamlet, with a new level of detail. This project stands out as the best existing alternative to an official port, still absent despite players’ persistent expectations.
The enthusiasm is such that many fans have already praised the work carried out. One of them confides: “I am waiting patiently, waiting until the end of the mod to finally be able to play Bloodborne. I find your work exceptional, especially the fact that it respects the original spirit”. Another simply summed up the general enthusiasm: “Thank you for this work. It’s incredible.”
An unofficial, but essential remaster
Despite the lack of official validation from Sony, this remaster stands out as a real reference for PC gamers. Available for free on Nexus Mods, it finally allows you to discover Bloodborne differently, with improved performance and a modernized experience. Above all, this project illustrates a reality: the demand for a PC version of Bloodborne remains stronger than ever.
