Launched with the first season of Battlefield 6, REDSEC mode is still looking for its audience. Faced with a timid start, Electronic Arts is deploying a new strategy: offering all players an exclusive item through a Twitch Drops operation. The objective is simple: bring back the curious, retain fans, and generate renewed attention around the game.
A Battle Royale criticized, a re-engagement campaign in response
Season 1 of Battlefield 6 opened at the end of October with the arrival of REDSEC, a new Battle Royale mode for the franchise. Presented as a mix between the tactical intensity of Battlefield and the rhythm of Battle Royale, the mode did not completely convince. Player feedback has been mixed, and attendance remains below expectations.
To counter this trend, EA is launching free rewards campaigns. The first, closed on November 5, now gives way to a second, active until November 17 at 8:59 a.m.. It is based on a simple and accessible mechanism: the Twitch Drops.
A bonus to unlock without playing, in just a few minutes
The principle is effective: by watching a partner Twitch broadcast during 5 minutesplayers can unlock an exclusive cosmetic item in Battlefield 6, named BFTank. No performance or in-game presence requirements, everything is played on the streaming platform.
To benefit from it, you must:
- Connecting to a Battlefield 6 stream showing [DROPS] in its title
- Have linked your Twitch account with the EA account or the platform used (PS5, Xbox or PC)
- Watch the stream for at least 5 minutes
Once these conditions are met, the content will automatically be transferred to your in-game inventory.
Pay attention to the deadline: after November 17, it’s too late
The most crucial element remains the duration of the offer. Passed November 17 at 8:59 a.m.it will no longer be possible to unblock this content. Even if you watched part of the stream or forgot to link your accounts in time, the reward will be lost.
This type of operation is part of a well-established marketing logic. It is aimed at both active players and those who are hesitant to restart the game. By making access easy and immediate, EA is trying to maintain attention on Battlefield 6 while promoting the Twitch ecosystem as a loyalty channel.
