Epic Games has updated its official roadmap on Trello, revealing to players the planned dates for content updates and season launches throughout 2026. A highly anticipated announcement, especially since the major changes introduced with Chapter 7. This year, Fortnite begins its 35th full season, with a steady pace of new features. And while “unforeseen delays are always possible,” the community can now anticipate key moments ahead.
The current season, nicknamed “Pacific Break”, marked a real break with the traditional mechanics of the game, notably rethinking the arrival system on the island and the progression pages of the Battle Pass. Some players remain skeptical, but the publisher continues to focus on innovation.
A precise update schedule…with a summer break
Fortnite’s 2026 schedule opens on January 9, with updates planned almost every two weeks. Among the confirmed dates: January 22, February 5, February 19, or March 5. But a cut is expected from June 19 to July 15, during which no updates will be published.
“Between June 19 and July 15, there will be no updates, which indicates that Epic Games employees will be on summer vacation,” specifies Game Rant. A break that has become traditional in the pace of game development.
The probable return of major seasonal events
The most dedicated players are already expecting to find the big highlights that punctuate the year in Fortnite. The popular Star Wars event in May could return around the April 30 update, just in time to celebrate “May the Fourth.”
“The April 30 update will most likely include content for the annual Star Wars event in Fortnite,” the article notes. At the end of the year, Winterfest should also make its return with its exclusive items, the lodge and its gifts, like every year.
Towards a launch of Chapter 8 at the end of November?
The end of 2026 also promises to be decisive for Fortnite. A mini-season is expected between the end of October and the end of November, during which Epic could well begin the highly anticipated Chapter 8.
“Another special chapter is expected to take place between October 29 and November 28. If so, players can expect Chapter 8 to launch on November 28,” say the Game Rant editors. And from December 10, a final update will bring in the end-of-year festivities before the development team’s Christmas vacation.
