GTA 6: fears of a third postponement resurface for a specific reason

This must have been good news. Grand Theft Auto VI finally has an official release date: November 19, 2026. But for a community already burned by two successive postponements, this announcement is not enough to allay doubts. Because until pre-orders are open, it’s hard to completely believe it.

Kate Harrold sums up this shared feeling: “This will be irrefutable proof for us that Rockstar Games keeps its commitments.” In the absence of unedited gameplay images and an opening date for pre-orders, caution remains in order.

Rockstar keeps silent, fans worry

Officially, everything is fine. But on Reddit and in the forums, players do not hide their skepticism. The thread surrounding Tom Henderson’s (Insider Gaming) latest report is revealing. “I will only believe it when I play it.”, writes one Internet user, when another adds: “The game will be available for pre-order on consoles. I don’t care about speculation.”

In question: the absence of tangible elements. The recent trailer, although promising, remains very cinematic. It shows no interface, no raw exploration, no real combat.

An insider assures that the date will be kept

Tom Henderson, a journalist known for his revelations (and embargo violations), said Rockstar was confident. “I think Rockstar is confident enough now to say the game will be released this year.” Better yet, it claims that the world’s internet infrastructure could be affected at the time of release. “GTA VI will be released this year, but will cause temporary problems with internet infrastructure.” An intriguing statement, but one that lacks precision. If it turns out to be true, it would reflect an anticipation of massive sales from the launch.

The real turning point: pre-orders and the February 5 conference

For the majority of fans, everything will be decided when pre-orders open. As long as these are not available on the official stores, the fear of a postponement will continue to fuel discussions.

We will probably have to wait for Take-Two’s next financial conference, scheduled for February 5, 2026, to obtain certainty. Rockstar could confirm the release date and launch pre-orders immediately. Until then, doubt remains allowed. Because GTA VI is perhaps the most anticipated game of the decade… but also the most postponed.
