James fails us
007 First Light was supposed to end the first quarter with a release planned for the end of March, alongside many other releases planned during this window. We will not be surprised to see certain games ultimately take more time to avoid this traffic jam, like a Saros recently postponed, but we did not expect that the James Bond game would also be delayed, given that the marketing machine has been well packed for months.
But IO Interactive has decided to be reasonable and therefore plans to delay the release of 007 First Lightwhich runs from March 27 to May 27, 2026 :
“ 007 First Light is our most ambitious project to date, and the entire team is dedicated to bringing you an unforgettable James Bond experience, combining breathtaking action, world travel, espionage, gadgets, chases and much more. As an independent developer and publisher, this decision allows us to guarantee an experience that meets your expectations from day one. The game’s development is progressing well and it’s fully playable from start to finish. These two additional months will allow us to refine and refine the experience, in order to offer you the best possible version at launch. We are confident that this promises lasting success for 007 First Light, and we sincerely thank you for your patience and continued support since the game’s reveal. »
A little tweaking won’t hurt and it also allows the release schedule to breathe a little during the start of 2026, which won’t be any worse. Fortunately GTA 6 is no longer planned for May.
007 First Light will be available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch 2.
