Every day from December 12 to 19, 2025, the editor No Gravity Games offers a free Nintendo Switch game for 24 hours. This Friday, December 15, is One True Heroa 3D platform game launching in 2022, which is highlighted. Normally sold for €15, it is temporarily free on the Nintendo eShop.
But be careful: the operation Switchmas 2025 works like a string. To unlock the game of the day without spending a cent, you must have obtained the previous free gamehere Bubble Trouble Adventures. A 3D adventure game inspired by the classics
Developed by Rat Cliff Games, One True Hero is a 3D platform game with strong influences from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time And Spyro the Dragon. The hero is a young farmer with no experience, propelled overnight to the rank of savior.
The plot sets the tone of an initiatory story tinged with humor: “One day, a young farmer. The next day, a hero… But will he really be able to save the town if he struggles to save himself?”
The player is invited to explore ancient ruins, defeat evil henchmen and unravel the mystery of a sunken city. All in an accessible atmosphere, far from AAA standards, but with enough charm to seduce fans of the genre.
A modest, but encouraging reception
The game does not have an official rating on Metacritic, but user feedback, notably on Steamare generally positive. With 73% favorable reviews, One True Hero is seen as an imperfect but endearing game. Many point out that it doesn’t match its high-profile inspirations, but is still enjoyable for those who enjoy classic adventure games on a budget.
At this price – free – it is difficult to be too demanding. For some, it’s even a surprise favorite in their Switch library.
How to Unlock One True Hero for Free Today
If you’ve been following the Switchmas event since the beginning, here’s what you need to do to get today’s game:
- You must have obtained Bubble Trouble Adventures (game offered on December 14).
- If not, buy it for €2.49 on the eShop to unlock access to One True Hero for free.
- Once this step is completed, all subsequent games (including the three free games on December 19) will be accessible without any additional purchases.

What if you have the Switch 2?
Even though the game does not have a native version for the Switch 2, it remains playable via backwards compatibility. The experience will therefore be the same, even if the performance or resolution will not benefit from specific optimization.
