What if Fortnite finally welcomed the heroes of Overwatch? A leak spotted by several credible insiders suggests that a crossover is in the works. The rumor has been growing for several hours in the gaming community: Fortnite could well host a crossover with Overwatch. If this is not official for the moment, several leaks spotted by reliable sources suggest that Epic Games is already working on an integration, at least partial, of the characters of the FPS signed Blizzard.
It all started from a very specific element, spotted in the LEGO Fortnite mode files. And it could be nothing more or less than the hairstyle of a cult character: Hanzo.
An unexpected but credible crossover between two giants
In 2025, Fortnite continues to crush all competition when it comes to collaborations and event content. After integrating icons like Kratos, Goku, Ariana Grande and Spider-Man, Epic Games seems determined to push its partnerships even further.
Conversely, Overwatch 2 remains behind despite its strong player base. A crossover with Fortnite would allow Blizzard’s franchise to return to the center of attention, by partnering with an ultra-popular juggernaut.
Hanzo seen in the LEGO Fortnite files
The origin of this rumor lies in a file recently discovered in the LEGO Fortnite mode. It was SpushFNBR, a renowned leaker, who shared an image containing several LEGO head modelsone of which in particular attracted attention.
According to Hypex, another popular source, “Hanzo’s official hairstyle was added today. LEGO is using this hairstyle ONLY for Hanzo.” He adds that this hairstyle had already been spotted in a preliminary version of a skin, before being removed, then reinstated. In other words, the appearance of this hairstyle is perhaps not a coincidence, but a trace of ongoing development around an Overwatch skin.
Leakers remain cautious about the scale of the project
Hypex, SpushFNBR and Wensoing insist this is just a “possible” collaboration. No official images, nor mention of a partnership between Epic Games and Blizzard, have been released.
But the history of these insiders works in their favor. In the past, Hypex has notably revealed several skins and events before their announcement, with a high reliability rate. It simply states that the return of the Hanzo hairstyle in the active files is troubling. “It was present on a preliminary version of a LEGO Fortnite skin, then removed, before being reinstated today,” he confirms on X.
An upcoming announcement or a simple experiment?
For now, this is only a rumor, but the fact that a LEGO skin is in preparation suggests that the crossover would not concern the entire Overwatch universe, but potentially one or two characters.
Hanzo could thus be the first to arrive in Fortnite in brick version, before wider integration. Epic Games has not confirmed anything, but is multiplying at the moment spectacular collaborations : South Park, Harry Potter, Kim Kardashian, and more.
If the trend continues, the Fortnite x Overwatch clash could well become the most anticipated collaboration of 2026.
