This is no longer just a rumor. An official entry on the PEGI website, the European classification body, mentions a game titled Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. A complete remake of Black Flagregularly cited as a player favorite, now seems inevitable. “The Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag remake has leaked again, and it looks like it’s the good one this time.”
Black Flag, the beloved episode that redefined the series
Released in 2013, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag took everyone by surprise with its unapologetic pirate theme, its spectacular naval battles and a hero who is more rogue than assassin. The game stood out from its predecessors with gameplay focused on maritime exploration and crew management. “Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is considered one of the best games in the saga for several reasons.”
Its Caribbean atmosphere, its immersive music, and its vast and lively open world left an impression. Since then, no opus has really been able to reproduce this balance between adventure, exploration and narration. So much so that audiences have been clamoring for a return for nearly a decade.
PEGI confirms the existence of Resynced
The leak comes directly from the official Pan European Game Information (PEGI) database. “PEGI has revealed the existence of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced”, a title until now only mentioned in rumors or on specialized forums like ResetEra. The timing of this leak is all the more interesting as the Game Awards are approaching, an event conducive to major revelations.
The PEGI classification is generally recorded at the end of production, everything suggests that the remake is already well advanced. “The Assassin’s Creed 4 remake is believed to be released by March 2026,” which makes an announcement in the coming days or weeks very plausible.
A strategic return for Ubisoft
This remake could well be Ubisoft’s trump card for 2026. With recent news marked by more uneven episodes like Mirage Or Valhallathe publisher has every interest in banking on controlled nostalgia and the heritage of a solid title.
At the same time, other remakes of major franchises – such as The Last of Us Or Dead Space – proved that there was a real demand for modern reinterpretations of video game classics. Ubisoft seems to want to follow this trend, capitalizing on one of the jewels of its flagship license.
It remains to be seen whether the name Resynced hides new features: complete graphic overhaul? Scenario additions? New engine? One thing is certain: the sails are ready to be raised, and the fans are just waiting for the signal to drop.
