During his appearance on the show Hot Ones on YouTube, Noah Schnapp revealed a confusing detail about the next season of Stranger Things. When discussing the connection between his character Will and the underground tunnels beneath Hawkins, the actor suggested that Will would have built these tunnels himself…after her kidnapping by Vecna in season one.
This statement immediately ignited the community, who saw a much deeper connection between Will and the Upside Down than previously thought. “The tunnels were created by Will after his kidnapping by Vecna,” Noah reportedly confided in the interview, before this passage was mysteriously cut during editing.
Vecna manipulated by the Mind Flayer?
Another shocking revelation: according to Noah Schnapp, Vecna is not the mastermind behind the attacks fromUpside Down. It would actually be controlled by the Mind Flayerthe tentacle creature seen in season 2. The latter would have transmitted his powers and his influence to him.
A theory that is not new to fans, but which seems this time confirmed by an actor from the series. It takes on even more weight as a similar version is mentioned in the play Stranger Things: The First Shadowperformed on Broadway.
A deleted scene that sows doubt
The fact that this revelation was cut during editing of the intriguing interview. The show Hot Ones is however known for broadcasting the exchanges in their entirety. This was all that was needed to reinforce the theory according to which Noah Schnapp would have really spoiled the series without meaning toand that Netflix would have reacted quickly. The deleted scene seems to confirm that the information is sensitiveeven exact. An involuntary leak? Or a cleverly orchestrated teaser?
An explosive season 5 expected for December
The final episodes of Stranger Things will be distributed in two volumes: December 25 and 26, 2025 for the first, and December 31, 2026 for the second. The wait is coming to an end, and speculation is rife.
If the theory of Will creating the tunnels is confirmed, that would make him a central element in the very origin of theUpside Down. From a simple victim in season 1, Will would thus become a major narrative key to conclude the series.
