a turn-based dungeon crawler taking up the retro FPS universe announced on consoles, PC and mobiles for 2026

A spin-off that expands the cult FPS universe

Presented as a canon episode taking place between the chapters of the original FPS, Dungeons of DUSK revisits the grimy and retro atmosphere of DUSK within a turn-based dungeon crawler, a first for the license. As a reminder, DUSK is a retro FPS first released on PC in 2018, developed by David Szymanski and published by New Blood Interactive. It was then ported to Linux and macOS (2019), then to Nintendo Switch (2021), PS4 (2023) and more recently to Xbox Series X|S on October 31, 2025.

The license was not limited to the main FPS. The publisher has already declined it in another genre with DUSK ’82: ULTIMATE EDITIONa 2D puzzle/roguelite spin-off released in 2021 and initially presented as an April Fool’s joke before becoming a real game. New Blood confirms that the title will retain the “boomer shooter” spirit of the original game, but reinterpreted in a structure inspired by classic grid RPGs.

The campaign will offer 30 levels, NPCs to meet and an old-school RPG-style progression system. Several additional modes will complete the experience:

  • Endless Arena
  • Boss Rush
  • Survival Fashion

According to the publisher, we will be able to face new enemies designed especially for this spin-off, while rediscovering the emblematic monsters of DUSK. We imagine that the title will be deliberately demanding, in line with the original game which already had this hardcore philosophy.

Dungeons of DUSK will be released in 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, Switch, PC (Steam), iOS and Android, and a PC demo will arrive soon.
