A few weeks after launch, the studio behind the game faces closure

A final update is planned for the end of the year

Even though the game was published by THQ Nordic, Wreckcreation received very little exposure. Three Fields Entertainment is very sad to see today that the title is a commercial failure, and its CEO Fiona Sperry has to announce very bad news on LinkedIn by indicating that the entire studio is now in danger. All employees are therefore threatened with dismissaland the team can’t even count on THQ Nordic support here:

The reality we face today is brutal. As an independent studio, we will not see revenue from game sales at this time. We had to self-fund most of this year, same for post-launch content. Without the enthusiasm or financial support of our publisher to continue development, we simply cannot maintain the studio in its current form. Making this decision was incredibly painful. »

She goes on to indicate that things planned for Wreckreation, such as future updates, fall through the cracks unless a last-minute savior comes along (like, randomly, THQ Nordic). A final update is still planned for the end of the year to add crossplay, but after that, it will probably be the end of the adventure.

Wreckcreation is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series.
