Pokémon Gen 10: a new leak reveals a game radically different from anything we know

According to leaks relayed by CentroLeaks and various specialized sites, Pokémon Gen 10 would bear the provisional names of Pokémon Wind And Pokémon Wave. The action would take place in a tropical archipelago inspired by Southeast Asia and Indonesia, with a map made up of several islands, each offering a distinct atmosphere and ecosystem.

This unique setting would mark a break with the more European inspirations of previous generations, for a return to a wilder nature, centered on exploration, survival and the unknown. The game would be a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive.

New and ambitious gameplay mechanics

The leaks describe a desire to reinventing the Pokémon formula with several major additions:

  • A Rotom Scooter modular, which gains abilities depending on the Pokémon linked to it (swimming, gliding, flying, etc.)
  • Of the climate change as a new combat mechanic
  • A free progression system: possibility of facing the “final boss” from the first island
  • Legendaries embodying wind and waves, described as a grandfather and a grandmother

A Pokémon named “Seed Pokémon” was even reportedly designed to have a procedurally generated appearance depending on the area visited.

Discontinued or under review features

Not everything has remained intact since the first leaks. According to several sources, many features mentioned in 2024 have been deleted or moved to other projects:

  • There procedural generation of islands would have been abandoned
  • THE MMO-like mechanics would no longer be planned for Gen 10
  • The possibility of ride or pet all Pokémon would no longer be relevant
  • “Pokopia” Side Project Reportedly Born From Abandoned Gen 10 Ideas

Finally, a leak suggests that Mega Evolutions could make their return, with a dedicated slot in the bag for Mega Gems.

Towards a revolution or a false alarm?

Fans of the license oscillate between enthusiasm And caution. Nothing has yet been officially confirmed by The Pokémon Company or Game Freak. These leaks, however, provide a clear insight into the initial ambition of the Gen 10 project.

An official announcement could come during a Nintendo Direct in 2026. In the meantime, the leaks suggest a freer, more lively Pokémon world, and potentially more mature in its mechanics. All that remains is to wait… and hope that the wind blows in the right direction.
