Pokémon GO: up to 400 storage locations offered to players with levels

Pokémon GO has just corrected one of the major irritants of its players: the chronic lack of space in item bags. For the past few days, a surprise update automatically applies a free storage bonus to each level level. Result: the most experienced trainers, who have reached level 80, immediately benefit from 400 additional locationswithout having to spend a single PokéCoin.

This new progression reward is retroactive. Players who reconnect to their account since the system was activated will directly notice the increase in their inventory. For others, the new levels will be unlocked gradually as they level up.

Compensation after a level up… chaotic

If this update is received positively, it also raises some eyebrows. On October 15, Niantic revised the Pokémon GO progression system by adding 30 additional levels. All players who reached level 25 or more then saw their level increase suddenly, and with it… dozens of gift items automatically added to their bag.

Result: inventories saturated in a few seconds, without players having time to manage their items. Many of them had to remove their rewards to be able to simply turn a PokéStop or validate a quest. Since then, criticism has poured in on social networks, probably forcing Scopely to react with this free increase in space.

another question remains unanswered : what about the storage capacity of the Pokémon themselves ? Currently, any such expansion remains chargeable, and players are hoping that Scopely will extend this generosity to captured creatures.

In the meantime, this update constitutes a concrete improvement to the gaming experience. As Matthew Schomer, journalist and player concerned, explains with humor: As a completely overloaded item hoarder after the level update, I’m happy to report that I only have 72 items left over the limit. It’s still a lot, but I should be able to throw in enough Poké Balls and Berries to spin a PokéStop by Christmas.”
