Fans no longer believed it, and yet: Animal Crossing: New Horizons will benefit from a major update at the beginning of 2025. Nintendo has officially announced the release of version 3.0 for January 15, a date to mark with a milestone for fans of the license. Additional surprise: this free extension will accompany the launch of the game on the Nintendo Switch 2, the future console expected in 2025.
A return with great fanfare, therefore, with generous content. In addition to a collaboration with Legend of Zelda and new islands called the Sleeping Islands, the update introduces several new furniture sets. But it is a very specific functionality that makes the community happy.
A function requested since 2020 finally added to the game
Absent from the official trailer, the mass production was enough to attract attention. From the start of Animal Crossing: New Horizons in 2020, players have been asking for the ability to craft directly from their storage, without having to sort through their inventory.
It is now confirmed. According to the game’s official page, “you can now craft items in batches, drawing materials directly from your inventory. And if you want a change of scenery and quickly get rid of unwanted items, look no further than Resetti’s Reset Service.”
It was the user Chase247 who spotted the mention in the general conditions, confirming the presence of this feature expected for five years. It not only allows you to make from storage, but also to produce several objects in a single operation, a colossal time saving for island decoration enthusiasts.
Fans in excitement as update approaches
On the networks, the announcement is already having the effect of a bomb. On Reddit, enthusiastic comments are multiplying. “I’M SO EXCITED ABOUT ALL THESE NEW FEATURES!!!,” said user Buzzy_Belle on the r/AnimalCrossingNewHorizons forum.
Others especially welcome the possibility of resetting their island more easily thanks to the return of Resetti, synonymous with creative renewal. One player sums up the general mood with a heartfelt cry: “Mass manufacturing is all I ever wanted. Oh my god.”
While some had abandoned the game after hundreds of hours of play, this update seems to awaken an entire community. “I was starting to get tired of ACNH after 2000 hours of play, but this update will probably make me want to spend another 2000 hours,” says one user.
