Without announcing it head-on, Apple has already shown the face of the new Siri ofiOS 27. In the video teaser of the WWDC 2026published on X by Greg Joswiak, an animation around the Dynamic Island suggests a completely redesigned interface for the assistant.
The journalist Mark Gurman confirms in its newsletter Power On at the house of Bloomberg that this visual is a direct preview of the upcoming Siri experience. The assistant thus leaves the full-screen rainbow animation inaugurated with iOS 18 to blend into the heart of the Dynamic Island. It remains to be understood how this new design will change the daily use of Siri and who will really be able to benefit from it.
iOS 27: how Apple has already shown the new Siri in the WWDC 2026 teaser?
On the WWDC 2026 invitation, a glowing pill at the top of the screen catches the eye. According to Mark Gurman, it is indeed Siri who is now “hiding in the Dynamic Island” and who would extend from this area to offer “Search or ask”. In other words, the same interface will be used to launch a classic search or an advanced voice query.
The journalist specifies that everything will be “accompanied by a light cursor […] which resembles how the 26 is highlighted in the conference logo [la WWDC]”. This visual detail, taken up in Greg Joswiak’s video, marks Siri’s new identity: less intrusive, more centered on the area already familiar to recent iPhone users.
New Siri iOS 27: what does the interface look like in the Dynamic Island?
With iOS 18Siri was displayed in the form of a rainbow banner bordering the entire screen. Apple is already preparing to put this animation in the closet. In iOS 27, the Assistant first appears as a glowing halo around the Dynamic Island, before the pill expands to make room for the “Search or Ask” field.
Concretely, you will be able to type your question on the keyboard or dictate it by voice in the same interface, without switching to an opaque full screen. This choice fits with the multitasking logic of the Dynamic Island: the user remains in their app, while keeping Siri at hand to complete a form, summarize a page or find a setting.
The leaks also suggest a wider panel, effect-style Liquid Glasswhich would open for long exchanges. On a dark background, the light reflections around the pill recall the aesthetic already seen in iOS 26 and clearly highlight Siri as a showcase forApple Intelligence.
New Siri from iOS 27: what functions, which iPhone, which calendar?
Beyond the look, Siri would evolve into a real chatbot with a dedicated application, close to Messages. There we would find a history of conversations, threads separated by project and the possibility of returning to a past request to extend it. The assistant would accept text and voice, like the ChatGPT type apps already popular on iPhone.
On the engine side, Apple would rely on models Google Gemini to process complex requests, with a system of extensions also opening the door to other services like Claude. A “Ask Siri” button in the menus and a “Write with Siri” action in the iOS 27 keyboard would allow you to call on the assistant anywhere: writing emails, reformulating messages, summarizing documents in French.
WWDC 2026 will be held from June 8 to 12, with presentation of iOS 27 during the keynote on June 8 and a developer beta afterwards. The final version is expected for the start of the 2026 school year. According to several sources, the full version of the new Siri and Apple Intelligence would initially remain limited to iPhone 15 Pro and newer models, which could leave many users behind.
