Nintendo is offering one year of Switch Online with the Switch 2 but there is a condition

The Nintendo Switch 2 continues to strengthen its catalog and its appeal to gamers. As the console approaches its ninth month on the market, Nintendo is increasing initiatives to encourage new purchases.

Among them, a recently highlighted bundle is particularly attracting attention. This bundle includes not only the Nintendo Switch 2 console, but also the Mario Kart World game and a one-year subscription to the Nintendo Switch Online service with the expansion pack.

A free Switch 2 bundle with Nintendo Switch Online

This bundle therefore offers several advantages for players who wish to join the Nintendo ecosystem. In addition to the console and Mario Kart World game, buyers can get a twelve-month Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription. This subscription gives access to online multiplayer, but also to several applications allowing you to play Nintendo classics from different generations of consoles.

Subscribers can thus access libraries of games from platforms such as the NES, the Super Nintendo or the Game Boy. The expansion pack also adds access to additional consoles like the Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, and GameCube.

An offer limited to two countries only

Despite its interest, this promotion nevertheless has a significant limit. The Switch 2 bundle including Mario Kart World and Nintendo Switch Online subscription is only available in Australia and New Zealand. Players in these two countries can obtain the console via the My Nintendo Store or from several authorized retailers. These include Amazon Australia, EB Games, Harvey Norman and Costco. In these regions, the pack is priced at around AU$769.95 or NZ$869.95.

A procedure to follow to obtain the subscription

Unlike other bundles where bonuses are included directly in the box, this offer requires an extra step. Buyers must complete a specific form in order to receive their Nintendo Switch Online subscription. This form must be sent between March 10 and April 14 and include several pieces of information, including the purchase invoice and the console serial number. Once the information is verified, users then receive a digital code via SMS which allows them to activate the one-year subscription.

The success of Pokopia boosts the Switch 2

This promotion comes in a particularly favorable context for Nintendo. The launch of Pokémon Pokopia, developed by Game Freak and Koei Tecmo, helped revive interest around the console. This life simulation game based on the Pokémon universe has quickly become one of the most popular titles on Switch 2. The console also benefits from a solid catalog with games like Resident Evil Requiem or Blue Prince.

However, Nintendo is also monitoring developments in the electronic component market. The company’s president, Shuntaro Furukawa, recently raised the possibility of a price increase linked to the global DRAM crisis. In this context, gamers who are considering purchasing a Switch 2 might be wise not to wait too long.
