Diablo 4 is officially free for a few days only, go for it

Xbox players have a new opportunity to dive into the dark universe of Diablo 4. Blizzard’s action RPG is currently available for free for a limited time, allowing all players to test the game without purchasing the full version. This free offer is available now and will remain available until March 18 at 10am PT. Unlike most Free Play Days events held on Xbox, this trial does not require an Xbox Game Pass subscription.

Diablo 4 free on Xbox for a few days

Typically, games offered in Free Play Days require an Xbox Game Pass subscription to download. This time, Microsoft is an exception. All gamers can access the Diablo 4 free trial directly from the Microsoft Store, either on Xbox or through the official Xbox website.

Just search Diablo 4 in the store to find the option to download the trial version. Players can thus discover the famous action-RPG developed by Blizzard, which immerses players in the dark world of Sanctuary.

A trial that allows you to progress in the campaign

This free version is not limited to a simple technical demonstration. Players can play through the game’s campaign and progress up to level 25 with any class they want. The progress made during the trial is not lost. It is retained if the player then decides to purchase the full game or access it via Game Pass.

The official description of the offer explains: “Action RPG fans, the doors of Sanctuary are open to you! For a limited time, immerse yourself in the hellish universe of Diablo IV and travel through the iconic campaign with the class of your choice, including the Paladin from the new Lord of Hatred expansion, up to level 25. Your progress is retained once the trial ends. Resume your adventure on Game Pass or purchase Diablo IV and unlock continued access to the Paladin by pre-ordering Lord of Hatred today!”

Lord of Hatred expansion coming soon

This trial period comes at a strategic time for Blizzard. Diablo 4’s new major expansion, Lord of Hatred, is due out on April 28. This content will notably add a new playable class, the Paladin, as well as new adventures in the Sanctuary universe. The free trial therefore represents an opportunity for new players to discover the game before the arrival of this expansion.

Other free games available this weekend on Xbox

Alongside this special offer, the Free Play Days event also offers several other free games for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. These titles can be tried until March 15:

Killing Floor 3
Bassmaster Fishing
Worms WMD
Tropic 6

With these free trials, Xbox players have several options to discover new games for a few days.
