Ubisoft is gradually ending support for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, while talking about Hexe and a 60 fps patch for Unity

Paris in 60 frames per second

The person responsible for the content of the license first wanted to mention the case ofAssassin’s Creed Shadowswhich will celebrate its first anniversary in a few days. As we already knew, this episode will no longer be entitled to other significant DLC in the future, and Jean Guedson would like to remind this by indicating that the game’s support is entering its final phase:

Since launch, the experience has evolved with new features and updates, largely thanks to your feedback. Our recent improvements to Free Running are a direct result of regular feedback sessions, in person and online, with our most engaged players and creators. […] As we reach this stage, Shadows enters its final support phase. We’ll gradually reduce the frequency and scale of updates… but we still have a few surprises in store! At the same time, our teams will begin to focus more on the continuation of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. »

Just to show that Ubisoft and Vantage Studios are not forgetting certain episodes, we learn than a 60 frames per second patch for Assassin’s Creed Unity will be deployed tomorrow on PS5 and Xbox Series.

A word about Hexe and Invictus

This speech was also aimed at looking towards the future, and not just at the remake of the adventures of Edward Kenway. Jean Guedson therefore addressed a few words aboutAssassin’s Creed Hexeof which he takes over the lead. Nothing new here except that the game will not be revealed for a while, and it promises to be very dark :

We realize that we haven’t revealed much about this project, but know that it is being developed with the greatest care by our team of veterans at Ubisoft Montreal. Expect a unique, darker, narrative-driven Assassin’s Creed experience that takes place at a key moment in the story. As you may know, I recently took on the role of creative director on this project, in addition to my new responsibilities as content manager. We’re taking the time necessary to bring this ambitious vision to fruition, which means we’ll be keeping a low profile for a while yet, but we appreciate the enthusiasm on our social media channels and look forward to revealing more in due course.. »

Guedson also speaks again ofInvictusa mysterious multiplayer project to say the least which is shaped by the team behind For Honor. We are told here not to believe all the rumors about him:

Codename Invictus is a multiplayer Assassin’s Creed PvP experience, led by a dedicated team of For Honor veterans at Ubisoft Montreal. We know that this project arouses a lot of curiosity. Yes, it offers a new approach to multiplayer in the franchise, but it’s not exactly what the rumors suggest. Player feedback is at the heart of our approach, and we try to involve our community early in development so we can build the experience together. The team is incredibly passionate about what they’re developing, and their work reflects our broader goal of delivering a greater variety of experiences in the Assassin’s Creed universe. »

Interestingly, Guedson says he is considering the return of a cooperative mode for the series, without indicating in which episode or in what way. Understand by this that the series is at a turning point and that Ubisoft and Vantage Studios will perhaps shake up certain things.

Apart from games, the Netflix series is mentioned again, without anything very concrete except that it should be talked about shortly. In short, Assassin’s Creed is at the heart of Vantage Studios’ operations and Jean Guedson wanted to remind us of this.
